Final Project

I liked this assignment because it tells about me and they all tell stories about someone in matches or games. In this assignment tried to make the pictures more light and to have the darks more exaggerated because i think that that was my biggest issue this term. It was hard to have contrast in the photos looking up at the sky when it was cloudy. I think that those are always the hardest for me because to me they look dull and flat so i really tried to exaggerate some of them. My favorite print is probably the cleat on the line because it shows contrast and it shows how you should feel in that position.

Assingment #9 - Project Proposal

For My Final Project I want to shoot something that I love to do and what I always do which is sports. I want to take pictures of the sports I play from a different piont of view:

-Swimming
-Tennis
-Lacrosse

I think that this would be a great idea to have the viewer see what an athlete sees when doing this sport. I would take photo of the tennis ball leaving someone's hand just before they serve the ball. I would take a photo of what i feels like when you are about to catch the ball into the lacrosse stick. I would take a photo of a swimmer leaving the dive block just about to touch the water. I will take pictures of what the athlete expierences and what it feels like for the viewer. Do they feel excited, scared, put down, etc. these are only a few of the feelings that I get from my expierence playing these sports.

This shot is one of my favorites because of the cool patterns it makes from this point of view. I also love the contrast. These are only a few of the soldiers that was killed fighting.


REALLY GET ON YOUR BELLY



This photo was really hard to shoot because you really needed to get down to get it from this angle so it was hard to get the right shutter speed and exposure.

BROKEN LAMPOST



This lamp post was shot in Washington that had to have a story behind that lets the person who sees this shot think for himself what had happened. But as far as shooting, it turned out a little flat.

I thought that this was one of the best "Get on Your Belly" shot there was because this angle is seen by a lot of people but never really remembered in that way.

Portraits

My mom


This is my mom. I shot only a couple pictures of my mom and this was the only one that doesn't seem so posed. I asked her if I could take a picture of her and she had this really posed face and then she started laughing at how she was posing so that's when i took the picture.


My dad


This is my dad. He is facing the sun so you couldn't really see his face but before I asked him to move, I took a picture and it actually turned out pretty good because it looks mysteirious.... sort of.




When my dad golfs a par 3 and has to come back for the next hole, he just bring a couple of clubs to hit with the rest of the hole, and this is how he sometimes carries it.




My dad usually swings like this and i just shot it while he was swinging.





Me


I didn't like shooting a portrait of me because i didn't know not to express myself. I shot me as Maria Sharapova (tennis player) because everyone says that I look like her.


My sister


I loved shooting my sister! HAHA that sounds funny. Grace went to go shoot some pictures for this class in the Willow Creek golf course so i decided to go with and shoot portraits of her.





This was when we were swinging on this swing that someone built over the pond and she kept swinging in circles so i took a picture when she wasn't expecting it.




There were only a few shots that I took without my sister's head phones in the picture. Fortunately, her headphones weren't showing.




I LOVE THIS PHOTO!! This is inside one of those golf benches.



I love this one too. Even though it looks lighter than all of the other pictures I took but i like it light like that.

Bell



This image was different from all of the rest because it didn't have some kind of tree trunk or something that was following it up. I kinda shot it a little dark.

I like this photo because it shows the shed in the background so you can see the different exaggerated heights of the two.


Another Tree



It was snowing at the time when I shot this photograph so the sky looks pretty gray. I think I should have shot more of the tree so you could see more of an exaggeration of the tree.



Haunting Staircase!!!



Just kidding! It doesn't look haunting. The carpet ruins the scariness. I like this picture because it describes the directions the "Get on you belly!" assignment. I had some troubles with the contrast and exposure on this picture.

My Lacrosse Stick!!



This photo actually means something to me because I love lacrosse! It describes who I am. I wanted to take this picture outside but it was snowing hard. I don't think that lacrosse and snow mix very well so I chose a simple background.

THe sCarY FirEPlAcE!!



This is just a simple shot of my fire place. I like this one because i didn't think it would be in focus but it turned out to be really sharp. My candle holders look like flames so it looks really scary!!!


Tree



I have two fake trees in my house and I thought this would make a good photograph because it's so tall and it looks all dominate and powerful.

Irving Penn's History

Irving Penn

Irving Penn was born June 16, 1917 and he grew up in Plainfield, New Jersey. When he was young, Penn never thought that he would have become a photographer. When he went to work for Vogue, he was merely a designer, until a person that was working there saw his sense of style and turned him to be one of the top ten designers in the world.
Irving was a fashion photographer that had a recognizable fashion sequence in his photographs. He is recognized in some important collections of Photography like Museum of Modern Art, Baltimore Museum of Art, and Addison Gallery of American Art.
Irving Penn did not have many self portraits of his face. He never liked his face to be shown in any pictures. On Wednesday of October 07, 2009, Irving Penn died, but his photographic designs are still strongly remembered.

HIgh Key/Low Key Part Two

Shelf



I liked this one a lot because I was running out of ideas to do for my photo assignment so I was afraid that this photo wouldn't turn out as well. I like the contrast of the shadows the most in this picture and i think it shows a lot of detail.


Curtain



This was taken in my living room and once I started bracketing these pictures of the curtain, I noticed that it showed good shadow and its very simple.


The Bottom of a Lamp



This one was easy to set up except for the lighting to make like a contrast between the lights and the darks. this was the bottom of my lamp and I put a blanket around it so it didn't show the gross tile floor.

Mug



I didn't know how to show any light to show contrast while was going to take this photo but then I saw that the reflection is light! I think it turned out to be a good picture but not the best.
